Christmas present for my 18 year old girlfriend?

I met my girlfriend online some time ago and she lives in Missouri. Sadly, that’s about 2000 miles away from my house in Oregon. I will be getting the chance to go there over Christmas break and have NO idea what to get her. It will be the first time I see her in 5 months! I don’t have much money since I have to pay for plane tickets, but I have no problem making something. I’ve given her jewelry, painted her pictures, sang her songs, written poetry. I just don’t know what to get her now. She says that me being there is the best present she could ask for…but I still want to get her something. So is there anything sweet and original that you guys have gotten, given, or thought of? Thanks!

When I graduate high school, I’m going to take the year off. What do I do with my free time?

I’m an almost 18 year old guy and I’m going to graduate high school soon. My marks aren’t good enough to go to university and I have no job and no money, so I’m going to take the year off to work and raise my marks online. The problem with doing this is that I won’t have anything to do. I’m a loner by nature and highly introverted, so I don’t really have any friends. I’ve been trying to make some though. I met this one girl last year and I guess we’re friends, but we don’t hang out that often. I told her that we should talk and hang out more. I guess I could talk to her more over the year, but I can’t really see her all the time.

I’ve thought about doing an online blog like livejournal or something like that. I’ve been told I’m a very good writer and I have a lot of things to say. I would use it mainly for writing about certain topics and writing my opinion on things. Just general topics that float in my head everyday that never get out because I don’t talk to anybody. I might see if I could join a club or something just to get a little more social. I don’t really know though.

What do you think?
The reason I ask is because I have been trying to get over depression for a year now. I tend to isolate myself from people a lot. When I graduate, I will have way too much free time and I might sink deeper into depression. So I need help.
Cris, I honestly don’t believe anything you say. You don’t know that I’m not going to go to school. You just assume. You know absolutely nothing about what I’m going to do. I can’t handle university right now, so I’m not going. All I’m asking is for advice on how to handle my time.
