They are only digging themselves into another hole. Their credibility is so low that they had to sell them at an interest rate that is more than the junk bond rate. There is absolutely no way that this can continue. This is after they raised the personal income tax by 66%. The difference between the government and a ponzi scheme is that it is public rather than private. Connecticut is similar. They are a mess, and they have one of the highest tax rates in the nation. Right now, we are only worried about the interest payments. But what about the principal? What happens when the interest rate goes up to 10%, 12%, 15%? The Federal government recently came out with a report that there are at least 47 programs for job training. There are mountains and mountains of overlap of programs. It just makes us all look like jackasses. Obama said that he was going to go through the budget line by line to make cuts, but obviously that hasn’t happened. What we need is about 12 commissions to figure out why we have so many redundant programs. That would be par for course for the government. The deficit this year is 1.6 trillion dollars. Even cutting hundreds of billions of dollars would still leave a massive deficit.
