They don’t say how they got my name and address at work. They don’t say who nominated me. And they do say they are not affiliated with other Who’s who publications.
No, its not. Its a marketing ploy. They’ll charge $550 for a 1-year membership after they’ve collected all of your info and send you some certificate. The “networking” database never worked, nor did the email system (but who needs yet ANOTHER email address, right?) when I joined the Who’s Who of Information Technology Professionals (my company paid). I cancelled after the first week and forefited a portion of the fee (i think it was $100 or $150).. pure rip-off. There’s really no benefit to being a member when there are social and business networking sites online (they say “networking” as a benefit).
It is legitimate in that they do publish the book.. It looks great on a shelf in your office. It marks you a gullable person.
Ask yourself this question: You have heard of Who’s Who, but did you ever hear of Manchester Who’s Who before they contacted you?
